Welcome to The Red Alliance. By accessing our website and purchasing used robotics parts, you agree to be bound by the following Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully.

1. Eligibility: Mentors and Adults Only

The Red Alliance is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) community.

Student Restriction: We do not accept orders from students or minors.

By placing an order, you represent that you are at least 18 years of age and are a registered Mentor or Adult Administrator for a valid FRC team. Orders placed by individuals identified as students will not be processed.

2. Mandatory FRC Affiliation Verification

To ensure our resources are supporting the FIRST community properly and are being purchased by authorized adults, no order will be processed or shipped until valid proof of FRC affiliation is received.

Upon placing an order, you must provide a screenshot or clear photo of your FIRST Inspires Dashboard. This image must clearly display the following three data points:

  • Your Name
  • Your Team Number
  • Your Role on the Team (Must be listed as Lead Mentor 1, Lead Mentor 2, Mentor, or Team Administrator).

Note: If the "Role" on the dashboard indicates "Student," the order will be immediately cancelled.

How to submit proof:

Please reply to the order confirmation with this image or email this image to support@theredalliance.net with your Order Number in the subject line immediately after checkout.

3. Order Processing and Cancellation Policy (The "24-Hour Rule")

Time is often critical during the build season. To maintain fair inventory availability for all teams:

  • The 24-Hour Window: You have exactly 24 hours from the time of purchase to submit your verification screenshot.
  • Automatic Cancellation: If we do not receive valid proof of affiliation within 24 hours, or if the proof provided shows a "Student" role, your order will be automatically cancelled.
  • Restocking: Upon cancellation, the items in your order will be immediately released and restocked to our inventory to make them available for other teams.
  • Refunds: If an order is cancelled due to lack of verification or student status, a refund will be issued to the original payment method.

4. Condition of Goods: "As Is" and Untested

The Red Alliance sells used robotics components. By purchasing from us, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

  • No Testing: We do not test parts for functionality, calibration, or performance. We do not guarantee that motors, controllers, sensors, or pneumatic components are in working order.
  • "As Is" Sale: All items are sold "AS IS" and "WITH ALL FAULTS."
  • Visual Representation: While we attempt to photograph items accurately, cosmetic wear, scratches, or previous modifications (such as cut wires or modified mounting holes) may exist and are not grounds for a dispute.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE RED ALLIANCE DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We make no warranty that the parts will meet your team's specific requirements or that they will function within the specifications originally provided by the manufacturer.

6. Limitation of Liability

Robotics involves inherent risks. By purchasing and using these parts, you agree that The Red Alliance and its officers, directors, volunteers, and agents shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from:

  • The use or inability to use the parts purchased.
  • Mechanical or electrical failure of the parts during operation or competition.
  • Damage to other robot components, field elements, or property caused by the failure of these parts.
  • Personal injury arising from the installation or operation of these used components.
